  • Fixed Retainers/Lingual Bar:

    The back of the front teeth are permanently bonded with a wire, known as a lingual bar, or fixed or bonded retainers. The retainers provide constant support, holding the teeth in their correct positions at all times. Fixed retainers do require more oral hygiene to keep the area surrounding the wire clean. However, they can be a great option for patients who struggle to adhere to removable retainers.
